The Registrar

A registrar is a qualified doctor who is training to become a GP. He/she has his/her own room, and consults patients on his/her own.

The registrar does sometimes video his/her surgery consultations. The video is only ever viewed by the registrar and his/her trainer in the surgery and is used for training purposes only. We do ask for patients' consent to be videoed and they are given the option not to take part.

Medical Students

The surgery is also involved in training fifth year medical students. These are not qualified doctors, but you may be asked to see a medical student before your appointment with a GP. You are under no obligation to agree to be seen by the medical student, but it would greatly assist their training if you would do so.

Medical Research

As part of this practice's contribution to medical research, we provide completely anonymised patient level treatment information to certain reputable third party organisations. Individuals cannot be identified from this information. If you would like more information, or wish to have your details excluded from any future medical research, please contact our practice manager.

Medical Trials

The surgery receives requests from time to time to invite patients to take part in medical trials. This normally involves sending letters to patients, who satisfy specified criteria, inviting them to take part in a trial. If you would like more information, or wish to have your details excluded from any future medical trials, please contact our practice manager.
