Abingdon Surgery

Travel clinics

We offer advice on all aspects of health care required for travel abroad. The clinics are run by Practice Nurses who have been trained in all aspects of travel health.

We advise that appointments for travel immunisations are made at least eight weeks before departure if possible as occasionally more that one vaccination is necessary.

It also takes some time for antibodies to build up in your body in order for you to gain full protection whilst you are out of the country.

Vaccinations are carried out during surgery hours. Advice on malaria prevention is given at this time. This is also an opportunity for you to discuss any other concerns that you may have about your forthcoming holiday.

If you are unwell please contact the surgery to confirm that you are still able to have the scheduled vaccination. This will prevent a wasted journey for you.

The tables below outline the cost of vaccinations for those patients registered with the surgery and also for those who are not registered.

Before making an appointment please download and complete the Travel Immunisation Form. Then send the form to the surgery and ring to make an appointment for the Travel Clinic; forms can also be faxed to the surgery on 01235 550625.
